We’ve had the pleasure to see our RockPillar shoes in some really beautiful & interesting places. But these images & blog give our shoes a new depth of beauty and meaning to bohemian sandals. Sourced from raw organic materials, natural dyes & fibers, our Costa Sandals truly look at home in nature amongst trees.
Like all great things, meeting Jessica from RusticBones was completely serendipitous and by chance. She has a keen eye for colors and for accentuating beauty. Here’s what she had to say about our shoes.
“The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.” -Chris McCandless
I’ve been in such an adventurous mood lately, which really inspired me for these photos. Even though my trip to Utah to visit the Arches National Park is not happening until September, I’m beyond excited to visit the West (it will be my first time out there!). There’s a possibility I might even be going to Colorado or Arizona at the very beginning of August. My friend and I have been wanting to take a trip out there for years and we want to make it happen!
In the meantime though, I will be exploring my home in Upstate NY. The Costa Bohemian Sandal from Rock + Pillar are perfect for accompanying me on my current outdoor adventure. Not only are these shoes so adorable and fashionable, the quality is so insanely amazing! I can’t help but have such high respect for this company and their products, as well as their ethical standards. All of their shoes are 100% handmade by artisans (these shoes took 30+ hours to create!) and they not only provide us with beautiful products but were helping support the artisans development and preserve the cultural pride for handwoven textiles. With a world full of mass produced products, it’s inspiring to see that this art is still occurring. Not to mention it’s amazing that someone can take a single piece of leather and create a beautiful pair of shoes!
